What is TSA?
What is VEX Robotics?
The Technology Student Association is a national organization dedicated to enriching technology education for its members. Students participate in a variety of activities, conferences, and service projects at the local, state, and national levels in order to expand their STEAM knowledge and skills by applying them to real problems that face us as a society. In doing this, the TSA aims to help students truly experience “learning to lead in a technical world”.
DHS TSA helps students gain a better understanding of technology through community outreach, competitive spirit, and conference attendance. DHS TSA stands by the goals of the national TSA, and does its best to ensure students make the most out of the time they have with the TSA.
VEX Robotics Competition is a yearly event where teams of students must plan, build, program, and operate a robot that competes in the annual VEX Robotics Competition game. Through this direct application of STEM concepts, students not only gain a better understanding of how to engineer their own tournament-winning robot, but also gain teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills that will stay with them for a lifetime!
The VEX robotics teams at DHS work hard to build the best robots they can, using basic VEX robotics parts and the tools given to them to complete their task. Teams participate in competitions held at the local level, as well as even the State and World Championships should the team qualify. VEX Robotics is truly an experience that students will never forget.
DHS TSA Mission
DHS TSA/Robotics aims to teach students essential skills in STEM, give experience in leadership, communication & teamwork skills, perform outreach programs to benefit our community, and encourage students to continue their quest for technological knowledge far into the future.
